The Story of the Poppy | From Raven's Writing Desk | BBB Supplies
Lest we forget! 🇺🇸 ❤️ 💙
Most of my family served in the military. I still remember my mom teaching me about Memorial Day. At a young age I said 'Happy Memorial Day’ (in the way that I would say Happy Valentine's or Merry Christmas). She stopped what she was doing and taught me not to say it that way. She explained it was a different and very special type of holiday. It was a holiday of remembrance. BUT… she also made it clear to me, that it was not supposed to be sad either. You ARE supposed to enjoy the weekend and be happy, but the holiday is really to remind you to be grateful that you have the freedom to do just that."
It is always with gratitude in remembrance of those who gave their lives, so we can live ours - freely.
In the spirit of the lesson my mom taught me, I hope everyone DOES have many fun family activities planned for the long weekend. Be happy with gratitude.
Wishing you all a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend!

Peace, love, and washi! ✌🏻
